For some platforms, where the operating system lacks certain necessary functionality, KCML and its subsiduary products contain some third party components that are separately licensed. These include:

• James Clark's Expat XML parser.
• Jean-loup Gailly and Mark Adler's zlib compression library.
• The libpng PNG graphics library.
• The Independent JPEG Group's JPEG graphics library.
• The Boost C++ libraries.
• Spencer Thomas' public domain Compress LZW compression program.
• Phil Karn's public domain DES encryption library.
• The Rijndael public domain implementation of the AES encryption algorithm.
• Steve Reid's public domain implementation of the SHA-1 hash algorithm.
• The RSA Data Security, Inc. MD5 message-digest algorithm from RFC321.

Binary shared library implementations of Xerces and Xalan XML and XSLT parsers are included with the KCML distribution on most platforms. These are provided under an Apache License.
